Tony and Kenny did this walk on 05/10/03. Getting there is straightforward enough. Travelling South from Glasgow/Lanarkshire, take the M74 and follow the sign for Wanlockhead. Similarly, from the South travel north on the M74 to the same signposting. Park near the cemetery. The Southern Upland Way travels south from this spot via the top of Lowther Hill (the one with the big "golf ball"on top. Height of climb is about 1000 ft (300 meters). Distance is about 2 miles (4 return trip).
