                                                  Pap of Glencoe

Climbed the Pap of Glencoe on 14th May 2004. 5 of us this time. Overnight stay in the Clachaig Inn where we all behaved ourselves!

Weather was misty and windy at the top of the hill and there was NO VIEW from the top, so a bit of a disappointment. The height of climb was 2400 feet. Time to climb was 2 hours 15 minutes which included a few stops on the way up. Time to get down was approximately 1 hour 30 mins.

The red line on the map represents the approximate route taken to the top.

As a point of interest to those who climbed Buachaille Etive Mor last year, (not me!), the height of the climb up the Pap of Glencoe was approximately 30 feet lower than the climb up Buchaille.

Although Buachaille is approximately 900 feet higher than the Pap, the starting point of the climb for Buachaille is at about 900 feet, whereas the starting point for the Pap is about 60 feet above sea level.
